The Toff In Town statement

FRIDAY AUGUST 26, 2011.

At just after midnight on the morning of Friday 26th August a woman in her mid 20's fell approximately eight metres from a balcony at The Toff In Town in Curtin House on Swanston St, onto the awning below.

The woman was on the balcony on her own when she fell.

Emergency services were called to the scene immediately and the woman was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital. She was released this afternoon, reports indicate that she hasn’t sustained any serious injuries.

For peace of mind for patrons and staff The Toff In Town's balconies will be closed until an internal review of policies and procedures has been completed. The Toff In Town is seeking recommendations on any structural changes that could be put in place.

Management & staff wish the woman involved a swift recovery.
